Chicken Wings in Beer
For 6 portions
INGREDIENTS:
= 3 lb. chicken wings or drumettes
= 2 bottles (12 ounces each) Boston Lager (or any other beer)
= 1 tablespoon salt
= 1 tablespoon Thyme leaves
= 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
= Nonstick cooking spray or oil to grease the baking sheet
COOKING:
1. Wash the wings, cut off and discard wing tips. Cut each wing in half at join. Place cleaned wings in a shallow bowl and sprinkle with Thyme, salt, and pepper – toss together. Pour beer over chicken and toss to coat. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 2-6 hours or overnight.
2. Preheat oven to 400℉ (200℃). Cover a baking sheet with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray or just use some oil.
3. Drain chicken but do not discard your marinade – reserve it. Arrange wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 1 hour or until chicken is cooked through and browned on all sides, turning and basting it with reserved marinade from time to time.
Do not brush with marinade during last 5 minutes of cooking.
Discard the remaining marinade.
Serve baked wings warm or at room temperature.
